Snow accumulation in the HHA Membership areas is very heavy, with more in the near-term forecast. The snow load on some cottages or other structures may be getting dangerous. HHA Members are advised to consider making arrangements to have snow removed from roofs especially where they are known to be lower pitch or of older, or marginal construction.
Also note, that despite the persistently cold weather, ice conditions are not ideal as there was significant snowfall before the ice coverage fully formed. Deep snow and slush underneath makes both walking and snowmobiling difficult in many areas at this time. Anyone that is attempting to get to their property that is not familiar with the ice conditions should seek trusted advice on ice conditions and be sure to take adequate safety precautions.
